NOW ACCEPTING PROPOSALS FOR THE 2013 SEASON

Friends of Ryerson Woods hosts six visual art exhibitions annually exploring the intersection of art and nature. Friends of Ryerson Woods reviews artists' work throughout the year and invites submission of work in any visual medium (photography, sculpture, painting, mixed media, drawing and video) that is inspired by, critiques or reflects on the natural world. Exhibitions are generally six weeks in length.  Proposals for both solo and group shows will be considered, and artists in any stage of their career are encouraged to apply.

To apply, please send the following to info@ryersonwoods.org:

  • Exhibition proposal

  • Artist's statement

  • 5-10 jpgs of proposed work

  • $30 application fee

The application fee can either be mailed to the address below (please make checks payable to Friends of Ryerson Woods), or paid online by clicking here.  Application fees are non-refundable, but are considered a tax deductible donation to Friends of Ryerson Woods, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization.

EXHIBITION POLICIES:
Artists are responsible for framing their artwork.  Due to the historic nature of the building, there are some restrictions on size of artwork and installation techniques, which can be discussed on a case by case basis.  If FRW is interested in accepting your proposal, you will be offered one of the available six week exhibition slots. FRW staff will work with the artist(s) to arrange and install artwork for the exhibition. Exhibiting artists are required to be present at an opening reception, generally held the afternoon of the first Sunday of the exhibition. Artwork may be made available for sale at artist's discretion.  FRW will retain 15% of artwork sales.
