Harris Educational Loan Program

Welcome to the Harris Loan Collection at Ryerson Woods
Ryerson Woods is now a satellite lending site for The Field Museum’s Harris Educational Loan Program. The Harris Loan program is an incredible educational resource for your classroom or home, and now you can borrow materials right here in Lake County instead of having to go downtown.

The Harris Loan Program at Ryerson Woods offers two types of media:
Exhibit Cases and Experience Boxes

Tree Squirrels

E
xhibit Cases

We have over 20 Exhibit Case dioramas (24” high, 22” wide, and 7” deep) available that show regional plants and animals in natural settings. A pullout label on the side of each case has basic information.

Experience Boxes

We cover more than 20 different topics with these portable collections of artifacts, replicas, specimens and many other resources to provide a broad variety of learning experiences. The experience box topics cover three categories–culture, biology and earth science.
